Riddle City Library Summer Events

June 13th 1 PM (Thursday): Getting summer off to a WILD START, animals from WILDLIFE SAFARI will be slithering, flying, and creeping into our library to introduce themselves to you. After touching time, you may register for a Fun Summer of activities at the Riddle City Library!

June 18th 1 PM (Tuesday): PET VET FIRST AID program for teens and adults to be held in the Community Center. Do you know what to do if your pet has a seizure or another kind of emergency? Our on-site VET will train you!

June 20th 1 PM (Thursday): Make a Marvelous Marble Maze. Held in the library.

June 22nd 1 PM (Saturday): Isaac Ashby of Outdoor Experience will teach teens and adults how to build a SURVIVAL KIT. Held in the park pavilion.

June 27th 5:30 PM (Thursday): Quicksilver Magic Show and Workshop for all ages. Learn the skill of magic tricks as you enjoy some great entertainment too! Held in the Community Center.

June 29th All Day (Saturday): At the Sawdust Jubilee – We’ll be raffling a beautiful handmade quilt, instructing teens and tweens on making a cell phone amplifier/speaker set, and perhaps have a caricature artist on duty to draw an awesomely crazy picture of YOU!

July 11th 1 PM (Thursday): Held in the library: Storyteller Jo Pierce tells some out-of-this-world tales which will keep you on the edge of your seat! Followed by a craft and delicious goodies. You KIDS won’t want to miss this one.

July 18th 11 AM (Thursday): Held in the Park Pavilion: TEENS and ADULTS will be making TIE-DYE Tee Shirts to take home. Consider what intergalactic design you’ll be wearing the next day! Cost: FREE

July 18th 1 PM (Thursday): Held in the Library Courtyard: Planetary clay sculpture of a special medallion you can wear.  KIDS! Get your hands dirty and have fun too.  What does Mars feel like? Is Saturn hot or cold? Check out your facts with our “feely boxes” afterwards.

July 25th 1 PM (Thursday): Held in the library courtyard. STEAM projects all around! KIDS learn how to make a soap powered boat, a fizz-powered rocket, veggie stamp art, and your own personal ICE Cream. Yummy!

August 1st 1 PM (Thursday): ROCK PAINTING for the children. Moon rocks? Jupiter rocks? You choose! Awards and prizes and ice cream floats will be given out for children completing this summer program.

All Summer: Teens and Adults will also read for chances to win special prizes! The last date to enter the drawings will be August 29th.
